Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
I just finished reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan, my favorite author. There was one passage on page 144. '' He took a deep breath and plunged into the forest.'' I picked that passage because I love a sentence at the end of a chapter that really hooks you into the next chapter. The significance to the book is that it shows how Leo takes a journey into the forest to find monsters which is based on Greek myths and is what this book is about.
I used 2 reading strategies before reading this book which were reading the summary on the inner front and back flaps and predicting what the next few chapters would be about. My prediction was they would find out where Percy was but will be tricked by a monster on the way. My 2 during reading strategies were reading slowly to make sure I understand, and reading the last line of the last sentence I read last time to know what is happening then. The 2 after reading strategies I used were checking my prediction which was sort of right, and reading about the next book in the series.
The genre of this book is fantasy which is a sub genre of fiction. It was based on Greek mythology. The characters are Jason, Annabeth, Rachel, Piper, and Leo. Those are the main characters. Some foil are Drew and Butch. All are dynamic except for the foil. The setting is Camp Half-Blood in New York. The time is present and the social and wheather conditions constantly change. The exposition is when Jason loses his memory, the rising action is when Annabeth arrives and informs Jason, Piper, and Leo of the dissapearance of Percy Jackson. I have not found the climax yet though and the falling action nor the resolution. I have not got up there yet. The conflict is supernatural vs. supernatural and external. They cannot find the lost hero Percy Jackson. The tone is serious, while the mood is worrying. The theme is caring because every character will fight for eachother.I do not know the moral because I didn't finish the book yet. The point of view is first person. The P.O.O is cause and effect. The author's purpose is to entertain readers with a suspensful story that really makes you want to read more. The author has nothing to be biased towards in the story. Some figurative language was a simile, onomatopoeia, and a metaphor. I haven't found anything else yet.
I really liked this book and if I was in Rachels shoes I would be freaked out by the oracle taking over my body from time to time considering I wouldn't be able to control it. I would rate this book a 9 out of 10 because it is an awesome story and I love the author Rick Riordan.
Sincerley,

Dear Isaac,
ReplyDeleteYour Readers Journal was great. I just have a few questions. First, what would you change if you were the author? Also what would you do in the main characters shoes? Lastly, what was your favorite part?
Sincerely,
Mikey
Dear Isaac,
ReplyDeleteAwesome reader's journal but as always I have some questions.
What would change if you were the author?
What was your least favorite part?
What were some things that the author did good?
Would you like to read other books like this?
What were some of examples of similes and such?
Why was the author biased?
How is the book cause and effect?
Why do you think the book is first person?
How did the character change?
How would you describe some of the characters?
sincerely, Juan 702
Dear Isaac,
ReplyDeleteI have to commend you on a great job on your RJ. I didn't spot any incorrections you had in your journal and that is great. Some questions I have for you are would you recommend this book to people like me? Have you read a book by this author before this book?
Sincerely,Fred
Don't be afraid to say if I have done mistakes in this comment
Dear Mikey,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment.
I would'nt change anything if I was the author, because I absolutley loved the book.
If I was in Jason's shoes I'd be jumping up and down because I just learned I can fly and am the son of a god.
My favorite part was probaly when Jason jumped down the Grand canyon after his girlfriend Piper.
From, Isaac
Dear Juan,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your long comment.
I wouldn't change anything as the author.
I didn't have a least favorite part.
The author did everything good.
I would love to read other books like this.
I returned the book to the library so I can't recall exactly what the simile was considering there was not that many.
The author was not biased.
The poo is cause and effect because everything happened for a reason because there was an action and a result of that.
The book is first person because the character is talking himself.
The character changed im many ways good and bad.
I would describe some of the characters as adventorous and brave.
